During the last weeks we have received a big amount of emails from users in different countries of Europe asking us to confirm the authenticity of several emails where they are informed that they have won the Spanish Lottery. In those messages, Loteria.es appears as the sender and so the company tries to profit from our site’s reputation and confuse the users about the origin of their emails.
Such emails are fraudulent. The scam consists in trying to convince the “winner” that, in order to receive the prize he needs to cover bank and other related fees. Once these have been paid, the company states that new costs arised and they need to be paid before the price can be sent to the winner.
From Loteria.es we want to inform our customers that loteria.es has by no means anything to do with such emails and strongly advises to ignore them.
Further, we’d like to remind our users that:
a) To win a prize of the Spanish lottery is essential to participate in the corresponding game. By no means emails are user in order to select the winners.
b) Spanish lottery prizes are always free of taxes and burdens.
c) When you are offered “prizes” that seem to be linked to the Spanish Lottery, DO NOT PAY ANY AMOUNT. We are, in all probability, before a criminal fact that must be reported to the authorities. The Spanish Police has already arrested and subjected to legal procedures some of the members of groups who were operating from Spain.
